Getting Started

A home remodel should not be stressful. We make sure that you know what to expect and are aware of any changes that may occur along the way.

Before we get started, we feel it’s important to provide a brief explanation on how our bidding process works. This will alleviate any surprises down the road.

Our free in-home consultation entails a one hour session. This allows time to get to know each other a bit, tour your project space, and listen to what you envision for this project. Should you be energized to move forward with us, and wish to obtain a detailed project estimate, we will begin to take measurements and gather the specific details that we will use to create a detailed proposal tailor fit to your project.

The cost for this proposal is $250. This proposal is a perfect working tool/booklet for you to keep as you collect bids from other contractors. It avails you a clearer picture to compare “apples to apples” regarding your project details and cost.

This usually takes us approximately 2 weeks to compile depending on the complexity of your project.

The best part is that should you award RR+D your project, we fold $250 back into your project. If not, then you have a beautiful professional package dedicated to your project with all of your pertinent information. It’s a win-win for everybody.

We have found that we must charge for this service because of the amount of time and legwork involved (4 to 6 hours) to provide you with accurate information and project cost. We do our best to bring to light possible cost areas (seen and unseen – thought of and perhaps not thought of). We present you a thorough + comprehensive estimate rather than come to you with unexpected change orders after your project has begun.

The evolution of choosing a remodeling contractor is rather extensive – for both parties. It is imperative for the success of your project to hire the right contractor, that you have an opportunity to communicate your vision, and that everyone is on the same page moving forward.

We will not underbid your project to get our foot in the door.

Our proposals include the following:

An accurate cost structure based on your envisioned result and materials discussed/requested

An outline of how we work and what you can expect

Get first-hand information from our previous remodeling clients

Our general liability insurance certificate. (All of our subcontractors are California compliant — licensed/bonded/insured.)

Photos, suggestions + ideas based on the information you have provided

Meeting to discuss what we have come up with for you. This meeting is important, as we lay out exactly what you can expect from us, answer any questions or address other concerns that may have come up.
